Sup­port­ing a robust annu­al cal­en­dar of pub­lic, tick­et­ed and pri­vate events, the Direc­tor of Events and Pub­lic Pro­grams is respon­si­ble for the suc­cess­ful mar­ket­ing, sales and exe­cu­tion of events on the Island, includ­ing but not lim­it­ed to tick­et­ed and non-tick­et­ed pub­lic events, fes­ti­vals, film shoots and pri­vate events.


The Direc­tor of Hor­ti­cul­ture will be respon­si­ble for all aspects of man­age­ment and long-term care of Gov­er­nors Island’s diverse gar­dens. The Direc­tor will shape open space man­age­ment pro­to­cols and lead a pro­fes­sion­al hor­ti­cul­ture team.


The Project Man­ag­er will over­see a range of cap­i­tal projects through all stages of plan­ning, design, and con­struc­tion at a time of sig­nif­i­cant growth on Gov­er­nors Island, ensur­ing that projects pro­ceed in coor­di­na­tion with avail­able fund­ing sources, the Island’s oper­a­tional needs, and short-term and long-term devel­op­ment plans.


The sea­son­al Dig­i­tal Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Asso­ciate will work with­in the Pub­lic Affairs team to sup­port efforts to engage a diverse audi­ence of New York­ers dur­ing the Island’s busiest sea­son, with a focus on dig­i­tal com­mu­ni­ca­tions tools.


The sea­son­al Cor­po­rate Vol­un­teer Asso­ciate will assist with plan­ning and coor­di­na­tion of group vol­un­teer projects on Gov­er­nors Island for the 2026 peak season.


The Sea­son­al Gar­den­er cares for plant­ed areas through hor­ti­cul­tur­al tasks such as plant­i­ng, weed­ing, mulching and water­ing, and uses equip­ment such as mow­ers, hedge trim­mers and weed whips. This posi­tion is ide­al for some­one new to the hor­ti­cul­ture field who has a demon­strat­ed inter­est in native plants and orna­men­tal gardening.


The ³Ò°ù´Ç³Ü²Ô»å²õ°ì±ð±ð±è­±ð°ù is respon­si­ble for pro­vid­ing dai­ly hands-on work that con­tributes to keep­ing the Island, open spaces, and struc­tures through­out the Island in a clean and safe con­di­tion for all Island visitors.
