Climate Piloting Program
The Gov颅er颅nors Island Cli颅mate Pilot颅ing Pro颅gram offers ear颅ly-stage com颅pa颅nies and inno颅va颅tors the oppor颅tu颅ni颅ty to test and scale cli颅mate prod颅ucts and ser颅vices in a real-world envi颅ron颅ment. Over 3鈥憈辞-18-month peri颅ods, par颅tic颅i颅pants receive rent-free phys颅i颅cal space on Gov颅er颅nors Island, a unique 172-acre des颅ti颅na颅tion in New York Har颅bor with 50+ his颅toric build颅ings, 2 miles of water颅front, and 1 mil颅lion annu颅al vis颅i颅tors. Com颅pa颅nies gain access to valu颅able tech颅ni颅cal sup颅port, vis颅i颅bil颅i颅ty through events and mar颅ket颅ing, and net颅work颅ing oppor颅tu颅ni颅ties designed to con颅nect par颅tic颅i颅pants with fun颅ders, investors, cus颅tomers, and the public.
Since its launch in 2023, the Cli颅mate Pilot颅ing Pro颅gram has advanced projects in liv颅ing shore颅lines, clean water, cir颅cu颅lar econ颅o颅my, build颅ings, ener颅gy, air qual颅i颅ty, and urban agri颅cul颅ture鈥夆�斺�塷pen颅ing doors to new cus颅tomers, sup颅pli颅ers, tal颅ent, investors, and pub颅lic agency part颅ner颅ships. The pro颅gram is a core ini颅tia颅tive of the Trust鈥檚 Cen颅ter for Cli颅mate Solu颅tions, a project build颅ing a com颅mu颅ni颅ty of part颅ners ded颅i颅cat颅ed to accel颅er颅at颅ing equi颅table cli颅mate solu颅tions for cities.
How to Apply
- Apply to the 2026 Climate Solutions Challenge: Adaptation by January 21 - Win a $10,000 prize and access to supplemental grants generally not to exceed $20,000 to support project design and deployment. Selected teams can access opportunities with the Trust鈥檚 network of climate partners, including the New York Climate Exchange, public agencies, and content area experts such as Streetlife Ventures.
- Submit a General Application on your own schedule - A year-round rolling application is open to all climate sectors. Project teams are responsible for all costs.
